Passport Checks

Owners intending to enter the SEIB Search for a Star showing series this year should check that their horse’s passport is up to date with the owner’s details, and that the correct owner is declared on the entry form. As part of their drive to ensure eligibility of horses, the organisers must see every qualified horse’s passport on the day of the qualifier and anyone unable to comply will not be invited to compete at HOYS.

Please check your Passports

Competitors that are awarded a HOYS ticket in qualifying events will be required to present their horse’s valid passport to the secretary to complete their eligibility for HOYS. A valid passport must show the current owner’s name and address as entered on the SFAS entry form, and the owners details must have been verified by the Passport Issuing Office (PIO), ie the details must be over stamped by the PIO. Please also bring a photocopy to leave with the secretary.

If your passport details are not correct and your horse is of foreign breeding you do not need to send the passport overseas.

Please visit the British Equestrian Federation website by clicking here. This link will take you to a form they use to amend/update non EU passports

Vacinations
SFAS does not check that vaccinactions are up to date but if you qualify and compete at HOYS you MUST ensure that these are correct and within the requirements of HOYS otherwise your horse will not be allowed on the HOYS showground.  Please check the HOYS website for clarification of vaccinations requirements.

Please remember that if a booster jab was even a day late 5 years ago but you did not completely restart the vaccinations you could technically be disqualified from HOYS – please check carefully!
