KEY DETAILS – PLEASE READ THE RULES!
Search For A Star Competition (“SFAS”) is open to amateur riders only. Eligible riders include those: who have not ridden, exhibited or owned a horse that has competed in a showing class at Horse of the Year Show since and including 2008; who do not produce or ride horses for the show ring for remuneration; who are not judges on the panel of any showing association or have judged any showing class whether registered/unregistered, paid/unpaid.
SFAS is open to horses and ponies who have not qualified for Horse of the Year Show (“HOYS”) before 1 March 2019. They may have qualified for Royal International Horse Show (“RIHS”) before this date but must not have been placed 1st to 10th at the show.
The horse or pony must not have been exhibited by a professional show rider or producer. Please read the rules for more details.
All horses and ponies qualify for a rosette.
All times are approximate – competitors must declare 30 minutes before the stated start time of each class – see rules about declaration.
Competitors and riders who qualify 1st or 2nd in SFAS may be invited to enter HOYS but entry to HOYS is not automatic and amongst other things is subject to the rider and horse or pony meeting the required standard for entry to HOYS and complying with the Search For A Star rules and regulations.
We will endeavour to run to time – further information from the secretary will be available on the day.
The onus is on the exhibitor, rider and owner to ensure that they meet the criteria of Search for a Star. Organisers of the competition will not be held responsible for any advice given regarding eligibility.
